THREE-DAY BEDSIDE TABLE BOOT-CAMP
This is an immersive skill-building Boot-camp for students ready to move beyond beginner projects and into real making. Over three days (Thurs – Saturday), you will design and build your own solid timber hardwood bedside table – and leave with not only new skills and tool confidence, but a finished piece you’re proud to put beside your bed.
Please note, the class fee does NOT include materials. Depending on your choice of hardwood and the thickness/dimensions, expect materials to cost anywhere from $200 – $400. Once you’re signed up to the class, the teacher will be in contact to discuss material choices with you and to help arrange supply . Examples of some timber choices are – Tasmanian Oak, Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, American Oak.

What you'll learn
Over three days you'll custom design and make a high-quality bedside table, using hardwood timber.
Solid timber box construction
How to build a drawer
How to fit drawer runners
How to fit a door (if applicable)
Design a bedside table that suits your needs. It may have a draw, and/or a cupboard door, or a floating shelf
Structural joinery such as the domino joint and the pocket hole joint
Techniques for square, flat and true construction
How to sand and correctly finish a high-quality piece

Full use of workshop tools and machinery
Full instruction and supervision across three full days 9am - 3pm
Who is this class for?
This class is open to beginners, however it is recommended that you have some tool experience. For an absolute beginner class, first check out my three hour Tool School class which will run you through all the tools in the workshop and give you a basic understanding and practice.
