This is a BEGINNER series! It's a great next step after completing Tool School. It's all about taking the next steps into building, growing your confidence with tools, furthering your skills and practicing on a real project. I'm here to guide you, but you'll be doing the work. We'll all be working around a common bench, so there needs to be room for everyone! The class is limited to 4 participants.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

This class focuses on practical furniture construction, using the pocket-hole joinery system. This system is beginner friendly, accessible to purchase off the shelf and versatile to use in many different projects.

How to develop a cut-list through accurate designing and measuring

Carcass construction and assembly

European hinge installation and door alignment

Adding trim and surface detailing, sanding and preparing for paint or finish

Working confidently with workshop tools

This class is less about fine woodworking, but in depth detail about the fast and practical method of joinery - the pocket hole.

Design options

To keep the build streamlined and achievable within two days, you'll choose from either a LIFT-UP STORAGE BENCH OR A DOOR FRONT STORAGE BENCH (please see reference pics).

Both options are pre-designed to ensure a smooth build process.

Materials Included

All core materials are included in your fee. The dimensions of your bench will be 800mm in length, height is customisable, 400mm deep. Due to space limitations, 800mm is the maximum length. Materials included are: 18mm plywood, hardware (European hinges), fixings and consumables. Some hardwood and/or trim will be available  on the day if you want to elevate your finish.

Sturdy closed in footwear and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Lunch and a water bottle each day.

Due to the small size of my classes, payments/deposits are non-refundable, as class numbers are hard to fill last minute, and materials have already been purchased. Your booking indicates that you understand and agree to this cancellation policy. Please email me if there is a compassionate reason for cancelling. Thank you for your understanding.
