Let’s build a Billy Cart! (Parent + Up to two kids) 8+

What’s more fun than playing with a good ole fashioned Billy Cart? Building one, from scratch with Mum or Dad, that’s what!

This one day course will have you and your child working together to make your own, custom made Billy cart using quality materials. Guided by me, in my workshop in Brookvale, I’ll walk you through construction step by step. You’ll have my full attention and will be able to ask as many questions as you’d like, even better, you’ll be learning and MAKING together.  I’ll teach you both how to safely and confidently use tools like a table saw, a drop saw, a drill and driver, the Kreg Jig, an orbital sander, the FESTOOL Domino, and the handheld router.  And at the end of the day, you’ll take home your own handmade Billy Cart – MADE BY YOU, together!

The Billy Cart does not come with a braking mechanism. Girl & Grain recommends caution when using the Billy Cart. Please make sure all safety gear including a helmet are worn at all times when operating the Billy Cart. The Billy Cart should not be used down hills. It is best enjoyed on a very slight incline (3 degrees). Caution, common sense, and parental supervision are recommended at all times. Please do not leave children unattended around the Billy Cart. Please ensure you check the Billy Cart before every use to ensure bolts and general operation of the cart are functioning properly.

Sturdy closed in footwear and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Lunch and a water bottle.

I’m excited to welcome you into my workshop!

Please note that this is a fully functioning commercial factory that I share with another maker. During our sessions together, there may be a lot of noise and ‘making’ that’s happening in the background. I hope you’ll appreciate the benefits of experiencing a real-life maker space and forgive the noise and mess that may come with it.
