The table is completely sealed with two coats of clearcoat, so food can be put directly on the tabletop (unless watery/oily).  After a simple wipe down with warm water, you'll be all set for your next picnic.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS The Happy Picnic Table is made from structural grade plywood.  It is finished with two generous coasts of Porter's Clearcoat, so there is no need to coat or oil it.  It is water-resistant, but not waterproof.  It should not be left outside.  You can use it outside but it must be brought back inside for safe storage.  Dry foods like crackers and nuts can be placed directly on top of the table.  Other food items like cheese or oily foods like olives should be placed on a plate or in a bowl.  It is not a cutting board and should not be used as such.  When you are finished using it just wipe it down with a damp cloth and store it flat in a dry place.  It is a lightweight table and should not be used for sitting or standing on.
